The bark is cleaned and boiled in wood-ash water for several hours. This natural alkaline solution softens the fibers without the use of harsh chemicals, preserving the organic strength.

Artisans rhythmically beat the softened fibers with wooden mallets on stone blocks. This physical labor breaks down the fibers into a smooth, creamy pulp, essential for high-quality paper.
